Lets learn about triangles
What is a Triangle?
A triangle is a closed 3-sided polygon. Every triangle has three sides and three angles.
Types of Triangles:
On the basis of Sides:
Equilateral Triangle
An equilateral triangle is a triangle whose three sides all have the same length
All three sides are equal in length, and all three angles in the corners are 60º.
Isosceles Triangle
An isosceles triangle is a triangle whose two sides have the same length
The angles opposite the equal sides are also equal.
Scalene Triangle
A triangle that has all three sides of different lengths is a scalene triangle.
Since all the three sides are of different lengths, the three angles will also be different.
Types of Triangles:
On the basis of Angles:
Right Triangle
A right triangle (also called a right angled triangle) is a triangle with a right angle (90°) in it.
The other two angles of a right-angle triangle are acute angles.
The side opposite to the right angle is the largest side of the triangle and is called the hypotenuse.
Actue Triangle
AA triangle that has all three angles less than 90° is an acute angle triangle.
All the angles of an acute angle triangle are called acute angles
Obtuse Triangle
A triangle that has one angle that measures more than 90° is an obtuse angle triangle.
If one angle of the triangle is obtuse, then the other two angles with always be acute.
Some Properties of Triangles:
The sum of all angles of a traingle is equal to 180°. This is called the "Angle Sum Property".
The sum of length of two sides of a triang;e is greater than lenght of the third side
The side opposite the greater angle is the longest side of all the three sides of a triangle.
